regarding commissions and the shadowzel comic..

long story short, im prepairing stuff for my uni portfolio this fall and theres a lot i have to do. one of the tasks i have to do is literally to make a short comic and honestly, doing that while working on the shadowzel comic on he side would probably be too much for me. i might be able to finish part 2 by the end of september/begining of october, but im not sure.

this goes for comms too, theres some other stuff i have to draw and as much as id like to open them again, id much rather keep that energy for the uni stuff since its more important to me atm. i did however think about maybe opening a few slots for simple sketch comms? ive seen some ppl do these and so i thought i could try it too. they wouldnt be any huge magnum opus -ish pieces, probably a little cheaper, but id still be able to at least draw something. idk, lmk in the guestbook or in the comments wherever i decide to repost this

oh yea also speaking of guestbooks, i realized i could be using my old strawpage as a guestbook instead of the one im using rn so ill probably be making a switch to that sometime soon!

(also also my bday is this saturday cough cough,,)

important matters part 1 is out

this took much longer than i wanted it to, but i finally finished drawing part 1 of the shadowzel smut comic i talked abt on my other bsky acc! you can read it here! i was thinking i could upload it to ng too when its fully finished, but for now ill just keep it here

also, heres some of my fav panels from this part^^

1 2 3 4

i think the reason this took me so long to make was because i didnt know what to do with it. i havent drawn comics in YEARS (i was like 10 the last time did like a "proper" comic,, and it was a foxy x chica comic, mind you,,) and had to redraw the first two pages like 3 times. at first, i wanted it to be fully colored, but i realized that would take a piss ton of time to make, the second time i tried going for a black and white coloring with simple shading, and eventually i dropped the shading too because, again, that would also take a long time, so i resorted to just b & w. then aside from that, it was the usual me being a perfectionist (at least when it comes to art), overthinking and redrawing everything over and over.

i realized drawing comics is honestly a really grounding experience - you have to just accept that sometimes, some of the panels will look wonky, theres a lot of "ohh i shouldve done [blank] like this instead" but id be here for another 6 months if i were to redraw everything i didnt like. just keep things simple, and dont worry too much abt imperfections

website updates schedule

i wasnt really good at updating my website the last time and kinda just,, let it sit there most of the time, so i thought now that im starting over, i could have like a sort of update schedule, i was thinking like once or twice a month i could post something here, be it art or me talking abt something in the journal

whatever its gonna be, ill make sure it wont end like the last time!

NEW LAYOUT!!

soo, here it is - my website, fully remade, with no annoying iframes and much more sillier (?) than before!

(the only iframes i use now are for the updates and to do list on the left side bar but thats because its much easier to have it in a separate file that i can embed here rather than having to update it on every single page individually, might do this with the blinkies too as i add more of them)

some notable stuff i added/changed:

  • added an rss feed - so that you can get notified whenever i update my page! kinda like the newsletter thingy but better (you dont have to give me your email address only to have it flooded by a gazillion updates), all you need is to have an rss reader like this
  • better art gallery - instead of the shitty old one where you had to scroll down the iframe, its now sorted in a grid, when you click on the thumbnail, it leads you to a separate page where you can view the full piece
  • speaking of the art gallery, I FINALLY FIGURED OUT HOW TO ADD FILTERS - on the top of the gallery page, you can see a table of buttons that can filter out the art youre looking for - so for example, if you only wanted to look at my oc art (which there isnt much atm but i will add some more in the future), just click on the 'oc art' button and it will show you just that
  • (slightly) better mobile compability - now, like i said on the warning page (another new thing i added btw), this new layout should be much more mobile friendly, but some stuff (like the right side bar with the blinkies) still looks a little funky when viewing on a phone, ill try to mess with it a bit more in the future but i dont think theres much i can do w this. but hey, at least its not as bad as before right?
  • added a guestbook- something ive been meaning to add for a while now, you can either use it to just leave me some messages for me to read (i might respond to some in my journal someday wink wink) or as a way to leave comments on my art. comment sections are another thing id like to try adding in the future, but for now, if you have anything to say regarding specific artworks, just write it down into the guestbook!
  • added a resources page- a page filled with credits, links and stuff i used to (re)make my website!
  • some other minor goofy stuff - like the sparkly mouse cursor (if youre on pc), a mp3 player, blinkies side bar, more animated graphics by yours truly and also... *checks notes*... a gumball machine in the about section? why is it there?
